MACRWG stake-holder Members

The current stake-holder group Members listed below are involved in the development of the process, and representative from each group are invited to attend each of the four meetings per year.

Acudetox Plus UK, part of the Barton Hill Settlement, a charitable trust situated in a deprived part of Bristol, provides two levels of auricular training in drug and alcohol projects and specialises in training and supporting suitable service users.

2. Acupuncture Consultancy & Training - ACT

A national Auricular Acupuncture Training Company established in 2000. A.C.T. delivers training in ‘The 5 Point Detox Protocol’ ear acupuncture.

3. The Society of Auricular Acupuncturists (SAAc) and The College of Auricular Acupuncture – TCAAc

The College of Auricular Acupuncture is the dedicated training arm for The Society of Auricular Acupuncturists founded 30 years ago. The College is dedicated to the continual improvement in education and standards of practice through three modules of training leading to the Comprehensive Diploma in Auricular Acupuncture. The training is in small groups to support and develop learners to be confident and competent to practice. All our course are accredited by the National Open College Network

4. The Acupuncture Society, The College of Chinese Medicine, TAS, CCM.

The Acupuncture Society is a professional body of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal and TCM practitioners and was recognised by the London Local Authorities on 29th October 1996 under the London Local Authorities Act 1991 section (4). The Acupuncture Society was formed to promote the development of TCM as an effective medical practice, to ensure high standards of practice and at the same time to serve as a bridge to modern medicine. Members are bound by a strict Code of Ethics, Rules and Regulations and a Code of Professional Conduct. They are obliged to comply with local health authority safety, hygiene and sterilisation requirements and carry full indemnity insurance and attend CPD courses.

5. The College of Naturopathic Medicine - CNM

The CNM Acupuncture Diploma Course provides high quality training that equips graduates to build highly successful practices. CNM has gained stage one accreditation with the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. Full ear acupuncture is offered as an elective to all of the Naturopaths at the college.

6. Ear Acupuncture Register - EAR

EAR is the register where graduates of Yuan Traditional Medicine College are listed. The college is constituted to provide education, certification of standards and technical consultation for the newly forming field of Microsystems of acupuncture. It also provides a

list of qualified trainers, supervisors and practitioners. Provides comprehensive training,clinical supervision, on-going guidance and postgraduate training and mentoring in Microsystems Acupuncture. The college runs courses in full ear acupuncture, hand, scalp,facial and foot acupuncture, to graduate and postgraduate practitioners.!

The EAR has practitioners from medical, paramedical & varied healthcare backgrounds,working in both statutory and non-statutory organisations, both paid and voluntary. The programme of training is in continuous process of development and evaluation to meet the growing needs of clients and services. The college has developed training programmes throughout the UK, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, Peru, and Ecuador.

7. The European Federation of Modern Acupuncture - EFMA

EFMA is an umbrella organisation for Modern Acupuncture practitioners. It was formed to give practitioners of Modern Acupuncture a forum and an organisation not catered for within Traditional Acupuncture (TCM).

9. Korean Hand Acupuncture

Wan-Hye Park is a qualified therapy tutor and practitioner in Western & Eastern therapies.She is a also Korean Hand Therapy Acupuncturist. She has further developed Korean Hand Massage (KHM) in 2002 by adding Korean Hand Therapy (KHT) theory. Wan-Hye Park introduced KHM for first time in UK. As a course to the City Literary Institute in October, 2005, and it remains on their prospectus.

11.UK Oriental Medicine - UKOM

UKOM is a professional body of qualified practitioners in Oriental Medicine such as: Tui Na Chinese massage, Acupuncture, Thai massage, Indonesian massage, Shiatsu etc. Body Harmonics was founded in 1993 and offers acupuncture training courses with the initial TCM theory taught through the medium of Tui Na. Acupuncture is offered directly to qualified health professionals.

12.Wellbeing Holistic Therapies

Wellbeing Holistic Therapies offer two-day courses teaching the practical application of Auricular Acupuncture for weight loss, to stop smoking, avoid alcohol and stress management. In addition specialised treatments as used in major drug and alcohol rehabilitation establishments throughout the world. Courses are accredited and have been approved by the Complimentary Medical Association, (CMA) one of the largest independent organisations in the U.K.
